The Adirondack Performing Arts Fellowship is dedicated to bringing together outstanding musicians who wish to honor Christ in the world of the performing arts. APAF emphasizes excellence in performance, transparency in corporate worship, and the importance of personal discipleship. Innovation is encouraged through composing, arranging, and teaching. Working together in community builds life-long friendships and networking among musicians who share high personal and professional standards. APAF aims to equip its musicians to be effective as Christ-followers in relating their musicianship to their faith.
APAF musicians are hired to perform in weekly concerts and recitals which include a broad variety of styles: classical, chamber, opera, Broadway, big band, and small jazz ensemble. These events are well-attended by enthusiastic audiences. In addition, musicians lead guests in vibrant worship during daily chapel services. Musicians are recruited from around the USA and internationally, and are chosen through a competitive application and audition process. While many staff musicians are currently enrolled in graduate programs, exceptional undergraduate students and post-graduate music professionals are also encouraged to apply. Climate-controlled Wenger practice rooms are available and there is ample time for personal practice during the week. Fellowship with Christian music professionals, numerous performance opportunities, emphasis on musical excellence, and the challenge of spiritual growth create a unique opportunity for the APAF musician to grow in their musicianship and in their faith.
